Description:
The Baltimore Bird Club will be taking a weekend trip to Cape May, NJ! Participants can expect to see a variety of raptors, passerines, shorebirds, and more! Butterflies will also be plentiful at this time of year and Monarch migration will be starting up. The trip will be led by two former Cape May Hawk Watch Naturalists who know the area well. Exact trip locations will be determined as the date gets closer.
You are responsible for your own transportation, lodging, and meals. It is recommended that participants arrive in Cape May on Fri., 9/27 so that they are ready to meet the leaders at sunrise on Sat. 9/28. Birding activities will be scheduled from sunrise to 5 pm on Saturday (9/28) and from sunrise to noon on Sunday (9/29).
RSVP is required, and this trip will have a maximum of 12 participants. BBC members who RSVP by August 22, 2024 will be given first priority with a first come, first serve policy (great time to become a member if you haven’t yet!). If space is still available after August 15, non-members are welcome, but all participants MUST be RSVP’ed by September 1st, 2024. These deadlines are set to assist the trip leaders in planning and logistics. To RSVP please email Alyssia Church ASAP (hawksaucebirding@gmail.com). Full itinerary and directions will be emailed to all participants after Sept 1.
This trip will be run rain or shine; however, if a tropical storm, hurricane or other hazardous situation comes up, the trip will be canceled.
Cost: there may be a nominal cost for one or more birding activities – TBD.
