Description:
This walk will explore one of Baltimore City’s newer eBird hotspots, Chinquapin Run Park, an underbirded highlight of North Baltimore. The park is a 2-mile, 76-acre stream corridor that follows the length of Chinquapin Run, a tributary of Herring Run (and ultimately Back River), from Lake Avenue to its confluence with Herring Run on the Morgan State University campus. The park has undergone extensive stream restoration in recent years and provides a rich habitat for Fall migrants. This walk will cover different areas than the walk this past Spring in the northern section. We will meet at the intersection of Northwood Drive and Kelway Road, where there is ample street parking. RSVP to leader required, limited to 18 participants.
