Description:
This park is opposite Fisherman’s Park at the Conowingo Dam on the Susquehanna River. Bald Eagles hang out in the trees along the river and Octoraro Creek. Possible early Mergansers and Common Goldeneye Ducks can be seen here. A nice combination of woodland and water birds frequent this park in one of Cecil County’s two IBAs (Important Birding Area).
Conowingo Park is located on Rt. 222 just below the Conowingo Dam. Use the north parking lot near the ballfields next to Octoraro Creek. Meet at 9 am. Be prepared to walk about 2 miles over mostly groomed trails
