Dr. Campbell Plowden, Founder and Executive Director of Amazon Ecology will present a narrated slideshow about the evolution, highlights, and challenges of this non-profit group’s work to create sustainable livelihoods for native artisans, strengthen traditional communities and promote forest conservation in the Amazon rainforest. Along with enlightening us about the non-profit’s work, Dr. Plowden will also share his experience of encountering birds of the Brazilian and Peruvian Amazon over the past 35 years. Following the presentation will be a sale of crafts made by Amazon Ecology artisan partners from Peru.
