Description:
Nestled at the top of the bay, Swan Harbor Farm Park is well known for its bird diversity. Expect lingering winter waterfowl as well as spring arrivals including Wood Ducks, both Blue-winged and Green-winged Teal, along with the regular occurrence of breeding Hooded Mergansers at this site. Sparrows will be a main target as Savannah and Swamp Sparrows share the grassland and marsh areas with the occasional Fox and Vesper Sparrow. The marsh may host Virginia Rail and American Bittern moving through at this time. Expect flat, but sometimes uneven walking as we traverse the grass trail around the marsh along with a gravel path to the bay. We will be meeting at the parking lot next to the red barn at the end of the lane (401 Oakington Rd, Havre de Grace, MD 21078). Trip limited to 15 participants. Please RSVP to the trip leader.
