Description:
Whether you are aspiring to become a bird trip leader or have led birding trips in the past and want to hone your skills, this workshop is for you! Join seasoned bird guides and trip leaders Libby Errickson and Alyssia Church at Cromwell Valley Park for BBC’s Bird Trip Leader Workshop. In addition to leading BBC trips, Libby and Alyssia have both guided for the Biggest Week in American Birding Festival and the Cape May Bird Observatory, and have honed their skills in achieving any trip’s most important goals: that everyone sees the birds and has fun while doing so. Learn tips on how to effectively point out birds and help everyone see them, manage large groups of birders of varying skill levels, and attend to the individual needs of your group members to the best of your ability. Leading bird trips can be challenging, and this workshop will help you on your way to becoming the best bird trip leader you can be. Limit 12 participants, RSVP required. Participants are encouraged to bring note-taking materials if desired. We will meet at Sherwood House. Please enter through the Sherwood entrance (first entrance) off of Cromwell Bridge Road. The Willow Grove entrance and parking lot will not be accessible. There’s ample parking (and porta pots) on the Sherwood side.
