Host:
Harford Bird Club
Leader Tim Houghton (timhoughton@comcast.net; 410-510-7504)
Description:
The view from the Turkey Point Peninsula during the southern migration of raptors and other birds is truly spectacular. The Northeast River on the northwest side, the Chesapeake Bay to the south and the Elk River to the east funnel the flocks right overhead in a concentrated flow. It is prime viewing for birds and a prime view of the headwaters of the Bay. If you are interested in carpooling from Harford County or would like help finding the location, meet Tim Houghton at the park and ride off I-95 & Rt. 155 near the Havre de Grace exit at 7:00 AM. Otherwise, meet at Turkey Point at 8 AM. Parking is sometimes limited so carpooling advised.
