Description:
Speaker: Erica Royer, aviculturist at the Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute. Erica works to prevent the extinction of two of the rarest birds in the world, the Guam rail and the Guam kingfisher. She will discuss the history of Guam bird conservation and the research that was conducted on the Brown tree snake (responsible for the demise of nearly all the birds on Guam) as well as the work being done now to conserve both the kingfisher and the rail.
