Dr. Wayne Munns will speak on “Birding Africa: A Naturalist’s Hike up Mt. Kilimanjaro.” Dr. Munns is an avid birdwatcher who has travelled the world searching for birds in various habitats. During the week he is a Supervisory Life Scientist at EPA’s National Health and Environmental Effects Research Laboratory, Narraganset, RI. His work has focused on developing and applying quantitative methods for ecological risk assessment, ecological modeling with particular emphasis on population dynamics, and using changes in ecosystem services to inform decision making. His talk will be preceded by some brief committee reports and miscellaneous items.
