We will sponsor a trip to Heartwood Nursery in Felton, PA (in the Stewarts Town area). The Heartwood specializes in native shrubs and trees. They are especially proud of their collection of native hollies. The property also features preserved forest and meadows planted to attract birds and butterflies. There will be a brief tour of the production area of the nursery as well as a birding walk. Late warbler migrants will be among the target birds as well as resident species. So, mark your calendars. Final details including carpooling/caravanning, etc. will be announced closer to the event. A special thanks to Rob Winslow, HBC member and employee at Heartwood, and to the owners and management of Heartwood Nursery for their assistance with this new project. If traveling alone or in a carpool plan to arrive at the nursery by 7:30 AM (Warblers feed early!).
