Our guest speakers will be Dr. Wayne Bell and Ron Ketter. Their talk, titled “30% Fewer Birds in North America: What does that Mean for Talbot County and the Eastern Shore?”, will compare the results from the recent Science Magazine study of bird losses in North America with several decades of citizen science data, including the Breeding Bird Survey and Breeding Bird Atlas. This data will be used to identify trends in our backyard, illustrating the importance of continuing to carry out this science (including BBS and BBA), and exploring how local efforts can make a difference. The business meeting will follow speaker presentation and Q&As.
