Description:
To mitigate the erosion occurring along Lower Stony Run, Baltimore City and contractors from Biohabitats widened the stream bank to create a terraced stormwater wetland. Only some of the planned native plantings and tree replacements have been implemented. The heavy rains of 2018 undermined restoration efforts. What has been the effect on bird life and the waterway? Fall warblers including Black-and-white, Magnolia, Black-throated Blue, Black-throated Green, American Rredstart and Common Yellowthroat are possible. Also Blue-headed Vireo. We’ll meet at the Remington Ave. bridge above Wyman Park Dr. The one-mile dirt path can be muddy. Limited to 10 participants. RSVP Leader Required. Be Prepared: Masks and Social Distancing May Be Required.
